About City Paws Emergency Care
Our Story
City Paws Urgent Care was founded in 2020 as the first dedicated veterinary urgent care in the Oklahoma City area.
Our mission was simple:
to provide pets and their families with accessible, high-quality medical care during times when their primary veterinarian was unavailable.
As the need for after-hours medical support grew, so did our commitment to helping pets when they need us most.
In 2022, City Paws Urgent Care began a collaborative partnership with Scissortail Veterinary Specialists, who operated in the same space during daytime hours. City Paws took over the facility at 4:00 PM, allowing the building to serve pets through two privately owned practices that shared a passion for excellent veterinary care.
This partnership quickly evolved into something more.
Together in 2023, we envisioned a modern, shared space designed to house multiple independent veterinary businesses — each with its own specialty, yet united by the goal of providing collaborative, comprehensive, and compassionate care.
In 2024, construction began on what is now open as The OKC Veterinary Collective.
City Paws Emergency Care is proudly locally owned, and our purpose remains the same: to provide affordable, high-quality urgent and emergency care to pets in our community. Our growth has been driven by a desire to serve, to innovate, and to create a supportive environment where veterinary teams can work together for the benefit of every patient.
What Is The OKC Veterinary Collective?
The OKC Veterinary Collective is the state-of-the-art facility where City Paws Emergency Care operates. This collaborative building is home to several privately owned veterinary practices that share a commitment to exceptional, compassionate patient care.
