Urgent Carein Oklahoma City, OK

Do You Take Appointments?

Nope! For your convenience, we are a walk-in facility and appointments are never needed.
What Is the Difference Between Urgent Care and a 24-Hour Emergency Hospital?

The mission of the urgent care is to fill the gap between your primary care vet and the emergency room. We provide prompt, effective relief for cases that are not serious enough for the hospital, but are too pressing to wait until the next business day.

We are unable to hospitalize at the urgent care, which is the main difference between our two facilities. The emergency hospital is the best place to go for true life-threatening emergencies or for when your pet needs to stay the night.

Is There an Emergency Fee for My Visit?

At every visit, our veterinarians will provide a full examination of your pet.

At either location:

  • If you come in before 10 PM, the exam fee is $99, no matter the reason you come in.
  • Between 10 PM and 8 AM, the exam fee is $139.
Do You Transfer Between Facilities?

We easily share all records between hospitals and can seamlessly treat your pet between them. If your pet needs to be transferred to the Emergency Care facility, we will let them know that you are on your way and seamlessly transfer records for continuation of care.

Do You Perform Routine Veterinary Care?

Nope! We want to focus all our efforts on sick cats and dogs needing urgent and emergency care.

How Do You Communicate With My Primary Care Vet?

We provide your records through a digital portal to your primary care veterinarian.

We will also email your record to you or will happily print your records at the end of your visit at your request, so you can have them with you for any immediate follow-up care.

What Is an Emergency and What Can Wait?

Emergencies
An emergency is any sudden illness, injury, or condition that is life-threatening or could cause serious harm if not treated immediately. Pets experiencing an emergency should be seen right away.

Common emergencies include:

  • Difficulty breathing
  • Uncontrolled bleeding
  • Collapse or inability to stand
  • Seizures lasting more than 1–2 minutes or multiple seizures
  • Poison ingestion (including medications, toxic foods, or plants)
  • Severe trauma (such as being hit by a car or attacked by another animal)
  • A bloated or swollen abdomen, especially with restlessness or retching
  • Inability to urinate
  • Sudden severe pain or distress

Urgent Conditions

Urgent conditions are serious and should be evaluated as soon as possible, but they are not immediately life-threatening. Pets with urgent needs may still require prompt treatment to prevent issues from worsening.
Examples include:

  • Vomiting or diarrhea, especially if persistent
  • Decreased appetite or sudden lethargy
  • Minor wounds or limping
  • Ear infections
  • Eye redness, squinting, or discharge
  • Coughing without breathing difficulty
  • Mild allergic reactions (itching, hives without facial swelling or breathing trouble)

If you’re ever unsure whether your pet’s situation is urgent or an emergency, please call us at (405) 342-0663. Our team can help you determine the level of care your pet needs and guide you on the next steps. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always our priority.

What Payment Methods Do You Accept?

We accept all major credit cards, cash payments, CareCredit, and ScratchPay. Payment is required at the time services are rendered.

What Is Your Policy on Prescription Medications?

We recognize that pet medications can be very expensive. We have an on-site pharmacy for immediate medication needs.

We will also partner with local pharmacies to write prescriptions for the lowest-cost generic alternatives.

For long-term medications, we believe your primary care veterinarian is your best source for refills.

My Pet Is Suffering. Do You Offer Palliative Care?

We are committed to providing care and comfort for your animal. While they are with us, we offer local and general anesthesia during procedures for their comfort and safety.

Furthermore, if you feel your pet is suffering and is at the end of their life, we can offer compassionate euthanasia services when you are ready to say goodbye.
